i've been making halloween costumes, and now i can start prepping for the craft fair on the 15th. i'm going to have bags and cubes for sure, and i have a growing list of other little things i'll probably sell.

we took family pictures on the square this morning with ashlee, and i can't wait to see the results! she was great to work with and the kids responded really well to her.

birthday party for the 4 year old this weekend! she's really excited about it, and i hope it goes smoothly and she has a great time with her friends.

i should probably get in bed so i don't waste the benefits of the nap i took earlier!

chris couldn't find his keys this morning before class so i got up with him, and now i can't sleep. i'm usually in bed till about 8:30 (i know, i know, that's pretty late with two kids) so maybe i can get some things done before he wakes up. (hannah is with grandma)

i was so excited to see honey crisp apples at the grocery store the other day. if you haven't tried them, you should. i ate them all through my pregnancy with cash, and i think they will always remind me of it. i feel so blessed to have enjoyed being pregnant with him, and cling to the sweet little things that are associated with it.

my amazing little girl is about to turn 4. we bought her a dress yesterday for halloween, and she is SO excited. i was going to make it, i have a pattern and everything. the pattern calls for about 4-6 yards of fabric, and the only fabric that would do was $8 a yard. yikes. sometimes it really is cheaper to buy.

i have some of the fabric for cash's costume, and i need to start the work on mine as well i guess. i love halloween! maybe i'll decorate a little today.

i'm going to pick up the cheesy studio pictures of cash today, hopefully they aren't too silly. i'll scan them in when i get home.

and now, to be productive before my little monster is awake.........

worry~

i'm trying NOT to worry so much about things. i've been reading through the bible in 90 days with a group of people in my church, and one thing that we read about recently has been on my mind alot - how much i worry.

here are some things i worry about:

money

keeping my house clean

cooking for my family

cash growing up too fast

hannah

selling things i make

chemicals in food and skin care products

selling our car

some of it is shallow, some of it is important. the silly things are just not worth my worry, and the important things are out of my control.

things i've recently checked off my worry list. (i just don't have the energy):

cash cut two teeth on monday, during a nap apparently. yay! he always has my hand or fingers or arm or chin in his mouth, so i'm positive they erupted during and unusually long 3 hour nap. i haven't tried to take a picture of them yet. he's still gnawing constantly, so i think there may be more soon.

my house is clean. i feel like it might stay that way. chris overhauled the kitchen (again) yesterday. the kitchen, for some reason, for me is what determines my whole day.

if it's messy, i'm less likely to cook something for me and the kids, and instead, we snack all day. if it's messy, i don't clean anything else until it's done.

if it's messy, i'm messy.

so now that you know i'm random, let's talk about selling cars.

carmax wants to give me 10,000 for my versa. we owe 12,000. it's worth 11,800. can someone just buy my car, please? i'm re-listing it on craigslist today.

ahh craigslist. i'm have to stop myself from looking at the vintage furniture for sale, it makes me crazy! i'm always looking for a big fluffy chair for our bedroom, that will take the place of the crib we have set up like a side car to our bed.

i guess i need to talk about sewing a little! :D i bought a large remnant of white linen, and i'm going to serge them to make some napkins. yep. white linen napkins. how old school. i'm**almost** done with the never ending seat cushions, and when they're done, purse, purses, purses. natalie bought a cube for her little man, and i have enough of the owl print fabric she picked to make two.

i'm working on two seat cushions for a woman i found on craigslist. i'm also making her two purses. ;D this is one side of the cushions. i have them sewn together now, just no pictures. yet.

i'm going to have to make a pattern to finish them, because the original cushions were kidney shaped, and i need to make them the same size/shape.

we took hannah for donuts this morning. she found the only on in the case with pink sugar on top.

and by cool, i mean 84 degrees. a couple days ago, we took hannah to the splash pad in allen, and had a great time. she accidently got wet.

and cash being cute. :D

he's a little rediculous, i know.

so got a chair to sit in while i sew. it's green. and perfect.

i made that purse thursday, it's my favorite. i'm thinking about making and selling more. it's reversible, this one is lined with tan corduroy.

and now, my new machine. drum roll please...

and i'll be giving the bernina back to my mom for safe keeping.

we had a surprise party for my mom saturday, who turned 60 last week.

chocolate cake with raspberry preserves, topped with chocolate covered grapes and strawberries. yum.

yesterday, the kids and i went to check out Michelle's new house, and make a trip to target. Hannah found her dream car in the parking lot.

we had this for lunch today.

i think i'm going to make meatballs with ikea sauce for dinner. yum. :D

i've had an etsy site open now since december of last year, and have averaged about a sale a month, which without advertising at all, isn't too bad i guess. when Cash gets a little bigger, i want to expand more, and have another shop with other goodies in it. in the mean time, i've been dabbling in embroidery and wondering why i didn't start sooner. i cross stitched a lot when i was little, but this is way easier. i embellished a little blanket for Niccole's baby girl, to look a little like a lamp shade from ikea that she's using in her room,

along with some gerber prefolds to be used as burp cloths,

and some fleece covers.

i'm working on a purse/bag thing, i just need some fabric to line it.

sewing is really relaxing to me. i am using my grandmother's bernina that she bought when i was hannah's age, and it makes me happy to make things with it. she made me many outfits to match my cabbage patch doll (sofia beverly. isn't that awful? i renamed her dede). she also left behind a stash of buttons and zippers and thread make me smile.
